Mary Jane’s Friends & Co. is Michigan’s first leading and original full-service cannabis support company helping keep cannabis operations running smoothly. We service licensed cultivators across Southeast Michigan, setting the standard through professionalism by delivering speed, quality, and consistency at the highest level.
As we continue to grow we are looking for dependable, motivated, and positive people to join our team and match our level of professionalism. No prior cannabis experience is required—we’ll train the right candidates on the job. This is performance-based contract work. Contractors who meet expectations, are detail-oriented, adaptable and take pride in representing the leading service company in Michigan’s cannabis industry will thrive here, and we’d love to work with you.
What the Work Looks Like
Each day varies—different sites, different start times, different demands. Flexibility is the minimum standard. You may be trimming, defoliating, harvesting, packaging, cleaning or transplanting at a licensed cultivation facility. Some jobs run 4 hours, others 8+. Start times are set by the client—typically 8 AM, sometimes later—and jobs end when the work is finished, which is why full day availability is required. Every shift has a team lead to coordinate, but ultimately, your performance determines your success here.
Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Personal Vehicle: You must drive yourself directly to client sites across Southeast Michigan. (For jobs over 1 hour from our office, courtesy carpooling is provided from the office.)
- Availability: At least 4 full days per week with no time restrictions (more available if desired).
- Must pass a background check (no felonies)
- Must pass drug testing (THC excluded)
- Professional Standards: Reliability, punctuality, consistency and strong work ethic expected on every jobsite. Must adapt to different clients, facilities, and their expectations without issue.
- Strong, clear, professional communication and positive attitude at all times.
- Follow directions promptly, have a team-first attitude and work well with them.
- Handle physical tasks: lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive work, able to work on ladders/scaffolding, stand for long periods, and work at a speed without sacrificing quality.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay - $14/hr, with fast growth opportunities for top performers
- Paid, on-the-job training to bring you up to our expected standards
- Direct deposit & bi-weekly payroll (no cash-under-the-table nonsense)
- Flexible scheduling—you set your availability, we assign you to jobs
- Tips, bonuses, and advancement opportunities for those who excel—as we grow, you grow
- Company trips, events and parties—great workplace atmosphere
Do Not Apply If:
- You cannot commit to full-day availability, or have any time restrictions
- Do not have your own personal reliable vehicle/transportation
- Cannot adapt to changing schedules
- Struggle with punctuality, or following instructions
- Bring excuses or drama to the workplace
Pro Tip: This role is not for everyone and we only contract with those who want to perform at the highest level. So if you actually read the whole description, write “Teamwork” for your answer to the last question in the application—we like people who pay attention.
